Right now group travel is still clunky in the sense that due to GDS restrictions, group travel web sites cant get rates right away. Thats why sites like www.hotelplanner.com and www.hotelscouter.com can't present rates. As these sites evolve, booking group travel online will become easier.

I always recommend cruising as an alternative to land based group travel. Planning tours, meals and activities are easier when you have set destinations and choices.
