Top 10 U.S. Ski Destinations
Orbitz released its second Annual Orbitz Ski Insiders Index, where stats from their site and trends in the ski industry are analyzed and the result is a top 10 list of the most popular U.S. ski destinations for the year. It's the usual suspects, although I was surprised to see Snowmass.
For 2006-2007 skier visits, Orbitz predicts these will rank top 10:
- Breckenridge, CO
- Mammoth Lakes, CA
- Lake Tahoe, CA
- Park City, UT
- Steamboat Springs, CO
- Winter Park, CO
- Jackson Hole, WY
- Aspen, CO
- Vail, CO
- Snowmass, CO
There is a really cool new channel coming to cable and satellite television. It is The Ski Channel. They say they will have everything you can do on a mountain and all mountain activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, backpacking, climbing, basejumping, etc. So little of this is on television now. Lets help these guys make this work. Go to their website and signup. http://www.theskichannel.com.
They have all kinds of contests, info and pretty cool stuff on their website.
About time!

Not surprised to see Steamboat in the midst of this list. We are looking at another great winter just a couple of months away. Families come for the kids-ski-free program, top rated ski school and friendly western welcome.
Oh, the skiing is pretty good too!!

I am currently a Comcast subscriber and can not get The Ski Channel because they do not carry it yet. I have created a site so hopefully many will write in to Comcast and request The Ski Channel.
thanks,
